House removals in Hammersmith
Whole households across W6 — Victorian and Edwardian terraces, Brackenbury family houses, and the larger stock towards Ravenscourt Park and the Chiswick edge.
A Hammersmith house move is decided by two things: the stair and the street. Neither appears on a floor plan, and both are why we survey before we price rather than after.
What is included
- A free survey — video call, or in person where the access earns it
- The parking permit or bay suspension applied for on your behalf
- Floor, frame and banister protection along the whole carry
- Wrapping for upholstery, mattresses and polished surfaces
- Dismantle and rebuild of what will not pass a door
- Room-labelled unloading, and materials taken away when we leave
The W6 terrace
Narrow-fronted, three or four storeys once the loft conversion and the basement are counted, with a stair that turns twice and a half-landing in the wrong place for a wardrobe. The load is rarely the problem. The distance between the front door and the top floor is.
That is a crew-size question, and getting it wrong is what turns a one-day move into a long evening. We would rather send one more pair of hands than explain at eight o'clock why we did not.
Brackenbury and Ravenscourt Park
The family end of the stock: fuller houses, garden rooms, side returns, and the accumulated contents of a decade. Access is generally better — wider streets around the park — but the volume climbs sharply, and a converted loft is almost always holding more than its owner remembers.
Streets and permits
Controlled parking covers nearly all of W6. The permit or bay suspension is part of the job, not an extra, and the council wants notice — which is the single commonest reason a moving day starts badly. Give us the date as soon as it exists, even provisionally.
Getting a quote
Both addresses, the number of floors, and a sense of what is coming. Flats are on flats and mansion flats, riverside blocks have their own page, and smaller loads go to man and van.
House move questions
What is a W6 terrace move like?
Narrow-fronted, three or four storeys including a basement or loft conversion, with a stair that turns twice. The volume is manageable; the carry is what takes the time.
Will you need a permit?
Almost always. Controlled parking covers nearly all of W6, so we arrange the bay suspension or dispensation once the date is fixed.
Why measure rather than count bedrooms?
Because a four-storey terrace with a converted loft and a cellar holds far more than the bedroom count suggests, and the vehicle has to be sized to what is actually coming.
Do you take furniture apart?
Beds, wardrobes and tables that will not pass a door or a turn. It goes back together in the right room at the far end.
Can it be done in a day?
Locally, almost always. We will tell you at survey if your particular stair and street mean otherwise.
